Welcome to the City of Rowlett Planning Division. If you would like to add on to your existing home, construct an accessory building, expand a small business or embark on a large development project, the Planning Division is here to walk you through the development process from start to finish.

The Planning Division works closely with all Divisions of the Public Works Department, including Building Inspections and Engineering. Responsibilities
The Planning Division manages land use development through the administration of the Rowlett Development Code and the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan, other plans, ordinances, policies and procedures of the City.

The Division also prepares plans or studies that serve to guide future target development in the community, all while maintaining a high level of integrity and customer service.

Case Information

The Active Case Log tracks open development applications and projected dates to be presented to the Planning & Zoning Commission and City Council. This will be updated as necessary.
