Reconstruction of Big A Road is set to begin Monday, March 27, and will be facilitated in two phases. During the first phase, both lanes of Big A Road will be closed between Freedom Lane and the Target shopping center for approximately 4-6 weeks (depending on weather). All residents living in the Liberty Creek subdivision will still have two way access down Big A Road westbound to Rowlett Road and will use Freedom Lane to exit and enter the subdivision. Traffic coming from the President George Bush Turnpike will need to use State Highway 66 and travel westbound to Rowlett Road to access Big A Road.
During Phase 2, Big A Road will be one way travel from Rowlett Road eastbound to Freedom Lane, and open to two-way travel from Greenway through the Target shopping center. Liberty Creek residents will use Greenway Drive to enter and exit the subdivision. Residents will turn left on to Big A and travel eastbound toward the President George Bush Turnpike access road. Phase 2 is expected to last approximately 4-6 weeks as well.
The City of Rowlett Public Works Department is excited to begin the Big A Road project. Thank YOU, the citizens of Rowlett, for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience experienced!!
